CFAD's NEW HOME AT 183 COWEY ROAD.

The Centre for Fine Art, Animation and Design (CFAD), which was established in 1994, is unique. Unlike the traditional route of an educational institute, CFAD, headed by internationally renowned cartoonist Dr. Nanda Soobben, not only boasts a 98% job placement rate for graduates of the institute, but also stays rooted, holding special recognition to those who have contributed unselfishly to the community and applying this notion when mentoring students. Keeping in mind that the past must be acknowledged before going forward.

CFAD has a reputation as a leader in its field - and this position has been further validated by the recent selection and declaration of CFAD as one of only four institutions in South Africa to be given the accolade by the MAPPP SETA of being an Institute of Excellence. CFAD has also recently received a grant from the MAPPP SETA, this grant will be used to finance the first ever, Animation Studio in Durban.

CFAD is continuously growing and this is evident in their recent change of premises. 183 Cowey Road, which is situated in Berea is now home to the Centre for Fine Art Animation and Design. Declared a National Monument, this 100-year-old building hosts a lovely two storey Victorian styled mansion with beautiful gardens and a charming fountain. CFAD now has the packaging to match its’ world class product.
